Who We Are

How We Started
The Vancouver Tennis Society started in 2022 because we saw that tennis in our city needed a voice. Our goal was to advocate for the sport and the community. One of our earliest efforts was rallying together to save public courts that were at risk of being removed. Around the same time, we launched our Meetup group to help players find partners and connect. By June 2022, we officially became a non-profit society to bring everyone together and stand up for the sport we love.

Where We Are Going Today
We have shifted our focus from just protecting existing courts to actively working to build new ones so we can play year-round. We are also very focused on our programs. We believe tennis should be open to everyone, so we run accessible lessons and social mixers to help people get on court. We are incredibly proud to have won the Tennis BC 2024 Excellence Award for our dedication to serving the community. From accessible classes to recycling old tennis balls, we are here to make tennis better for Vancouver.
Vancouver Tennis & Pickleball Centre
Vancouver needs an affordable, high-quality indoor tennis facility. The Vancouver Tennis & Pickleball Centre (VTPC) is a partnership between VTS (Vancouver Tennis Society) and VPA (Vancouver Pickleball Association), offering 8 indoor tennis courts and 12 indoor pickleball courts.
